Like IE8, IE9, and IE10 you need to install the ActiveX version as a seperate program. The two updates installed along with IE11 were Windows English Hyphenation Package and Windows English Spelling Package.

KB 2670838 was already listed in the Installed Updates on this system, so can't answer whether it is required for IE11. firefox.exe *32 quite often remains running on my systems after I close FF. That's one reason I've temporarily stopped using FF. Norton never finds cookies on my system anyway.Ībout iexplore.exe processes remaining active in taskmgr after the browser is closed, I haven't noticed but I will keep an eye on that. I also use SpwareBlaster which blocks them as well. I can't answer about the cookies as I have my browsers set to block tracking cookies and I use Norton ID Safe so would not miss any sign-in cookies.
